Cafe Bulgakov - Cluj-Napoca

The food was good. The plates are delicious. Cheese, sausage, pepper, eggplant salad and so on. The burgers with plescavita on the other side, was ok. I expected more. A good experience

They said it was fanta zero, but it had sugar. We had to go with coca cola zero. It was great though. I ate a very big schnitzel and a papanasi.

Café Bulgakov, located smack dab in the middle of Cluj, was recommended to us by a friendly Restaurant owner of a different Hungarian Restaurant Unsurprisingly it didn’t disappoint. The portions are very generous and very very tasty.

I 've been to this Cafe/Restaurant several times, and I 've had a satisfactory experience. It didn 't stand out from the crowd in any of the metrics (food, service, atmosphere) and I certainly wouldn 't call it one of the best restaurants in Cluj-Napoca, so I 'm not sure why people are loosing their minds in all those 5 star reviews. Each to their own, I guess. The one metric at which it stands out a bit is the atmosphere because it 's spacious enough both indoors and outdoors. They weren 't greedy when they divided the sections, as other restaurants have done, so that 's a plus. Another bonus is the location, which adds to the atmosphere metric because it 's in a car free area, even though it 's relatively close to the city center. Because of this, you 're shielded from the noise, and when you 're sitting on the terrace, in the summer, you almost feel like you 're having a picnic in nature with friends.

Excellent restaurant just a short way from the city centre. Great food and atmosphera and great for traditional food. We tried a sharing platter, goulash, cabbage rolls and many other plates. Throughly recommend.
