Leo's Bagels - City of New York

Update they have a new look! Check photos Depending on the time of day, there will either be very long lines or no line at all, but don't let that dissuade you from going to this FiDi staple. So many different options to choose from, but make sure you know what you want before you get to the counter, things move quick! I have not had a bad bagel or sandwich from here, so you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. Of course make your own (I'm partial to the everything bagel with cream cheese and lox and a cup of hot coffee (pretty good for a place like this! . Nothing beats this place the morning after a night out if you're in the area, grab a bag, a coffee, and take a walk down to the water and enjoy the sun and people.

We stayed in the area and I researched some bagel places. Leo's Bagels had good reviews so we tried it out. I was excited to see many people in line as was hopeing this meant a really good authentic New York Bagel. The line moved rather quickly and service was good. The bagel itself was nothing spectacular. To me it was an average bagel. I would love to come to New York and really find out where the locals get good Bagels and Pizza as well.

They just took over the shop next to them which gives them a lot more room but somehow the service got slower. It took me 30 minutes to get a bacon egg and cheese bagel. Their speciality sandwiches are amazing but plan to go for a long walk while you’re waiting. For context, was here at 9:50 on a Sunday morning. Possibly the worst time to go so other days are likely much faster.

The food was outstanding, prices were high (even for New York), and service was purposely and unnecessarily rude. Still recommend, but be warned

It was our first time here at Leo's Bagels. You can have any type of bagel with the many meat or fish choices.
