Henry's Cafe The City

Not happy thankfully they took two meals off of the bill however food was just not satisfactory. Smelly too and service wasn't on point

Unlike others we got good food and service Meeting up with our nephew and family from the UK after arriving from USA it was a nice afternoon

Went here for drinks after work with a group of people, one of the group had reserved an area and pre ordered drinks and food platters. On arrival we spoke with one waitress who showed us to the area and then headed off to get the food, and would then come back for drinks. Twenty minutes after arrival we were still just stood there with no drinks and no food. We then asked the waitress if it was possible to change the wine we had ordered (unopened and we still didn 't have any drinks at this point) or some more beer, she said no but then 5 minutes later another waitress came over and said we could swap them but made a big sing and dance about it, a simple yes or no would have been fine. When the drinks did eventually come out, the beers were in ice buckets with ice around them but they were warm, and had clearly come straight out of cupboard/ box rather than a fridge. We then had to wait for the beers to cool in the ice bucket, it was nearly an hour after being there before we had 'coolish ' drinks terrible. Throughout the service was rude and just terrible. When the food platters turned up they were really nice, very well presented and tasted good, it is just such a shame that the visit was ruined by the above. Won 't be returning here in a hurry.

I've been to other Henry's in Central London and I've always left positively. They are usually a decent looking and comfortable bar restaurant serving good food. This one wasn't quite the same. It wasn't as comfortable but it wasn't off putting at the same time. The service was quite interesting. We had about 3 different waitresses throughout the duration of our lunch. The first took our drinks order which took a while to come back to us. Another waitress took our food order and as they didn't have any flatbreads, I asked for a few mins to decide on something else, but also to stop her from coughing all over me. The another waitress came to take the order my friends ordered a burger and I ordered a steak club sandwich. The food took a while to come, like the drinks. I wouldn't mind too much if it was just simply that the food took a while to come, but what happened was that it took a while for half of the food to come. The burger turned up but the steak club sandwich didn't. The waitress asked if I'd like it to be quickly made up and brought over. Er... yes please, a hungry person here? The food was really nice once it had arrived. I was happy with my choice. The meat was really tender and the flavours were great. The portion was also great! All in all, good location, ok atmosphere, bad service, good food.
