To begin, I would outright recommend you to avoid this restaurant. My partner and I came here at the recommendation of his brother, for a lunch date. I ended up leaving nauseous and without finishing. This is the first time I've ever written a review, and complained to a waitress about what I was eating. I ordered the harvest salad with med rare ribeye on top. My partner ordered the chicken parmesean. The salad components were good, except for the steak (which obvi cost a lot extra . Most of the steak i put in my mouth was white fat, and gristle. I gagged while eating my food, and couldn't finish, because the throw up was right there. I picked through the rest of the salad and pulled more gross pieces out and put on a plate. I got so nauseous from eating this gross texture (you don't expect to have to pick apart a salad w precut meat strips I had to stop eating and sit in the bathroom nauseous for a minute or two. I got up the nerve to actually say something to the waitress (she was great! and she took the plate back to the kitchen. When she returned she said it's because it's prime rib and that's a fatty cut (it was more than the normal 1/4 inch of fat for a rib eye I'm used to. It was like .5inch by 3 inch strips of white chewy grossness, that felt like a fat cap or something and that was it. I was going to order an additional entree to take home, but decided not to since the the restaurant did not seem to care and I was pretty much dismissed. The energy was for sure off. My partner also paid over $22 for a chicken parm plate with one piece of cutlet (as opposed to two which is normal when it's that thin and a heap of spaghetti. He said it was okay but would rather have had the $17 plate at our favorite diner, which has a better balance of chicken for the price. I tasted the chicken parm myself and it was fine. Not the best but nothing visibly wrong and def wouldn't get again. We paid for it, full price, and left an over 20% tip. We got boxes and I took the food home but i threw it in the trash bc of how nauseous I was feeling on the drive home, and I didn't want to take the risk. I didn't expect accommodations or even to not pay, but the experience did rub me the wrong way and I will not be returning and I recommend to my followers/ anyone considering it to not go. Just go to a good diner you like, your paying to sit in a renovated atmosphere, but the food isn't up to par.
We had a wonderful experience at SweetWater Bar Grill. I called them on a Thursday afternoon to try to find a banquet facility who could accommodate 25 people for lunch after a funeral mass on the following Monday. John and Anthony immediately jumped into action and organized a beautiful lunch for us in our own private room. We had professional, cheerful, and kind service from Donna and Nicole who took care of our every need. The food was delicious (recommend chicken parm, chicken picante, crabcakes) all the way through to the delicious cake, coffee, and tea service at the end. Highly recommend this restaurant and the wonderful people who run it. Thank you all so much.
