Tortello Pastificio - Chicago

I got the Tagliattelle Tina and the Cacio e Pepe. Both with tax was $50 and some change. Now for the food: The Tagliattelle Tina did not have enough sauce but the pasta was good. Now the Cacio e Pepe was absolutely delicious. The pasta and the sauce. And the portions looked on the small side but once I scooped out the pasta it was more than enough and I had enough for leftovers. I will be going back to try the Focaccia Ricotta with honey and the Tiramisu.

Worth-it tier: B-. Decent food, but pricey for small portions. Fresh pasta concept is nice, worth a visit if you like pasta and don’t care too much about price, could get 2 entrees.

Cacio e pepe was incredible. Perfectly al dente. We ate in the outdoor little heated igloo thing and it was so fun. What a perfect little spot. It was quick and easy. I want to go back and try all the pasta. You can see them making it fresh right in front of you. They didn't seem to have a whole lot of seating tho.... I do wonder where you would eat if everything was full.

The homemade pasta is fun- atmosphere is nice- at the beginning it seemed like it was going to be outstanding the appetizer with ricotta and honey was delish! The tortello and burrata was honestly quite bland The other entree we ordered for lunch was lobster and it was so spicy you couldn’t even taste the lobster. Also there was squid in there which wasn’t mentioned and was a disappointment since I don’t like squid- for this price I definitely won’t be back as there are many better options in the city. I feel like they are a little too high on themselves.

Came with 3 friends on Sat night. Very crowded but got a seat right away. Very small, tight place, but huge on ambience. You can tell the priority is on quality. The food was DELICIOUS. Homemade pasta cooked perfectly. I had Clams and sauce on spaghetti and it was heavenly. Fast friendly service. I love smaller places like this with tons of character and Tortello came through. We had a great time. Not sure if we'll be back because we always want to hit someplace new but if I was a local, it would be a regular stop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
