Bidra med feedbackNote there may not be A/C at the time of ur visit. For some that may not be an issue. Great food already. Definitely get the Bass, pork belly porchetta, wagyu beef tartare. The food was top notch. Atmosphere was good and our waitress was very attentive.Come here for a good meal and cocktails. The duke is a very interesting cocktail and if you’re adventurous definitely order
Came on a Cubs game day, was worried about having enough time to have a quality meal before the game. Any worries were quickly taken care of. Staff were great, drinks were both good quality and good pricing, food was tremendous and saved me from having to spend money on awful ballpark food
We stopped in here before the Bruce Springsteen concert because they had a sign out front that said “Walk-ins Welcome” and they were the ONLY bar on the block that wasn’t absolutely packed — became pretty clear almost immediately why there was no one in there. There was a weird tension in the atmosphere and you could tell none of the staff wanted to be there — the customer service was absolutely awful! our bartender was extremely rude and acted like we asked for the Moon when my mother requested napkins. He then yelled at us for putting our purses on an empty chair next to us and said we weren’t allowed to “save” seats for guests who hadn’t arrived yet.when our guests did arrive the hostess came over and reprimanded us to let us know that “congregation around the bar was not allowed” … very bizarre. we immediately left instead of getting a table and went to Hotel Zachary instead (even though we had to stand and drink there).the one positive was that they did have a lovely selection of mocktails, and the one i ordered was really good. the rest of the drink menu looked really interesting too as did the food.
The vibe and look of the place is cool. It's good for the older crowd that's visiting Wrigley for a game or something. The food and drinks were over priced and unnecessarily trendy, but you're paying for location and lack of super young drunky drunks coming from the Cubs game. Wrigley field is directly across the street so this location makes for great people watching. This is a sit, eat and chill place. No music or loud shenanigans. The staff was nice and the bar area looks cool.
My dad and I decided to stop in to Mordecai before a Cubs game for a beer. They don’t have the usual beer and drink selections, but the lager was just the light beer we were hoping for. To eat, we ordered cheese curds which came with an aioli and together they were very good. Definitely a more upscale bar than I would generally stop at before a game, but glad we went. I would go back in the future.
