House of Blues Restaurant & Bar - Chicago

The food was average, but the drinks were not impressive. The hostess we encountered tonight was not very friendly, and seemed to have a controlling demeanor. We almost decided to leave because we were unable to get a booth and were instead seated in the middle of the restaurant. The hostess explained that booths were reserved for larger parties, but it was evident that there were plenty of available tables and booths. This was our first time dining at House of Blues, but we will not be returning. However, I want to recognize the hard work and friendliness of Guillermo, who deserves a significant raise.

Man the ten dollar cover was worth it. The live band was amazing and it wasn't to loud. Also the place is real casual so don't feel pressure to dress up. If u don't know where to stop in downtown the house of blues is a safe choice.

This restaurant is fantastic! The music is great, the food is delicious, and the cocktails are top-notch. Plus, the prices are reasonable. A definite must-visit if you're in the area.

I would not even give this restaurant one star. The website advertised live music starting at 5pm, so I asked when the show would begin upon entering. The staff informed me that it would start any minute, but only after I had placed my food order did they say that the show had been canceled. This was a disappointing experience, especially coming from a place like the House of Blues.

Don't come here if you love the Blues! Food good and reasonably priced but drinks expensive 17 dollars for a very average cocktail! Music provided by a duo singing anything but the Blues a very also ran pub band! Quirky decor but basically arestaurant with background music.
