Commons Club - Chicago

I really like this restaurant, but something was off yesterday. The waiter didn’t pay much attention to my friend and me. My friend’s steak was cold and the replacement steak she received was smaller in portion. We had to flag down various waitstaff to put in our drinks order and to inform about my friend’s steak. It was so odd because the restaurant was practically empty. Also, they were out of the weekday special and didn’t inform us until my friend tried to order it. The manager was sympathetic and comped the whole meal. But I’m not inclined to go back.

Great food, maybe a tad expensive. The Lobster/bacon sandwich is amazing!

The food was delicious the presentation beautifully done. Great place to meet friends for snacks or dinner

We had reservations for commons club with tickets to a Madonna party. However, the commons club ended up being bought out for a private party (which we totally understand) however we were not informed until after arrival and were told that the party was moved to make Rickys diner. The Madonna party menu and drinks did not transfer over nor did the party. The waitress had no idea what was going on although she did try to get some information from concierge for us. Had we been informed before hand of the party being canceled then we wouldn’t have gone out of our way to come.

The four of us enjoyed an entirely delightful dinner; ambiance, waiter, manager, chef all outstanding!
