Bistro Campagne - Chicago

Eating and service are both amazing. this is one of our favorite restaurants.

We arrived a few minutes early for our 6:00 reservation and were happy to see that the personal would be completely prepared and for the amount that would participate in songs by good cheer at the old town school of music at 7:30. we were served in a tempo that had done and satisfied us in a lot of time for the performance, and yet we never felt rushed. Beware of all who made it! an unforgettable eating on a beautiful day!

Saturday was my man's birthday and I had made the reservation three weeks in advance, because I knew it was overcrowded. to our great disappointment we were taken on the worst table in the place small and in the middle of the main floor behind the sitting bar course, with server and guests constantly pushed from both sides of our table. we have all the ideas of ordering a bottle of wine and staying over the finer entrees. we have just ordered burger and decided to resume our romantic evening at another place. this is not the first time that something comparable happened in bistro campagne. it is definitiw met or mis regarding the feeling, as the experience as a whole is worth it. if they are looking for a place for a special celebration, note that it could either go in this restaurant. we had been lying when everything was great, but this time not.

In any case not what it was earlier, sad. it was one of my favorite restaurants in the city, but the last time I went back, it was slipped, so did not go for the past year, but then decided to give it another try. still loves the ambiente and our server was very nice. but the brot was not as good as before and the Heilbutt-Special was overcooked. the steak frits, which were formerly excellent, were simply in order with type of muddy fries. the pumpkin cream brulee was also just ok- I had excellent pumpkin cream bruleee in the pastness and that was not it. I'll go back in the opposite.

Lackluster food at downtown prices. It had been many years since we dined here and it will be many more before we return. So many better French restaurants. The special pear salad was skimpy. The special halibut was just ok. The filet came with overcooked fries.
