Bidra med feedbackWe thought we'd try here, as some friends said that eating was good. we waited 55 minutes for two steak rolls. they were edible. dry thin slices of bark burned to an ash on the edges. two glasses. a pint and sandwiches were £30, what a torn off. After telling our friends who had recommended us, they agreed that eating again failed for them. it seems that the good cook has run out. When will such a practical local return to a good village pub!
I had a fabulous experience in the Farmers Arms, what a delightful, welcoming place. The pub is clean, spacious and comfortable with great outdoor space. I had booked a table the prior evening and spoken to a lovely lady on the phone who turned out...to be even more friendly and lovely when we turned up for lunch, the gentleman behind the bar was a real star and very pleasant to chat with. The locals were really friendly and we had a good laugh. This is ticking all the boxes for me before we even talk about the food, excellent, home cooked food by a chef who truly cares. The roast dinner was sublime, crispy roast potatoes, home made Yorkshire puddings, an interesting selection of vegetables and the meat was cooked to perfection. The roast was all brought together by a rich, luxurious gravy, a gravy you could tell had been nurtured and refined by a very talented chef. The puddings were luxurious and also all home made. Go and enjoy the Farmers Arms, the location, the ambience, the food and the warm friendliness that we all enjoy and need. This is a five star review, left with genuine appreciation and gratitude for the stellar job done by all in this truly awesome place.
I visited this pub with family recently, the food is most definitely overpriced, we did complain to staff, however the lady was very rude. Will not be visiting this pub again, which is a shame as we like to support local businesses, especially when they...have only recently opened. One word ‘shocking’
My husband and I popped in here mid walk. We received a warm welcome from the lovely lady behind the bar. We asked about food, she said the chef wasn't in until 4:30pm. So we decided to wait 10minutes to order. The chef was late,...he arrived at 4:50pm. We had starters which were nice. I had a burger and chips, which on the menu were described as home cooked. My husband had steak pie. The chips were frozen ones, and not very nice. The pie was a bit of puff pastry plonked on top on some very tough meat. We ate it all as we were wet and hungry from a big walk. The lady asked us how the food was, and we were honest. She disappeared into the back and we could hear her discussing this with the chef. She never came back out. There was no apology about the chef being late either. On reflection we would return for a lovely pint of San Miguel but never have food there again!
I would not recommend eating here. We saw the positive reviews and decided to go here for lunch. We ordered a chicken burger, cheeseburger and two cokes, which was about £23. While waiting for our food my partner saw the barman carrying two plates to...another room, and while doing so he took some fries from one plate to put on the other. This put us off as we had just seen him collecting glasses, handling money and wiping sweat off his face! We tried the food when it arrived, the burgers were probably the worst I have ever tried, the chicken breast was rubbery and I think the burger might have been a microwaveable one. The chips are oven fries. The quality of the food and the fact that everything (cutlery, condiment holders etc Were all quite dirty made us leave feeling quite sick. I'm not sure if this place is under new management but the reviews don't reflect our experience here at all.
