Chebeague Island Inn

Visit our friends in S. Portland, We drove with the local ferry to Chebeague Island. Easy ride to the Chebeague Inn on the hill. from the shuttle of the Inn. They knew we were coming from the ferry for our lunch reservation. Great. Comfortable. Quaint old style inn. The menu was fantastic. My wife and I had fish sandwiches with Fritten. Large piece of fish in a sandwich. I also had a local beer Allagash White-yummy. The ambience and the view from the food on the veranda. I was impressed that our waiter Mate was professional and friendly. There was a large group of companies lunch on the lawn among us Spectrum: nevertheless great service. Recommend this restaurant.

Short motor from Portland. Get one of the yellow guest moorings #41 45 there is a start We went for lunch, but ended on Sunday Brunch. Limited selection in the menu. I ended up with a Caesar salad fair. It is the atmosphere that is the drawing, so there is. Call the shuttle bus to get you to the inn.

My wife and I had a nice, relaxing 5 nights. The Inn is charming, with excellent service, a delicious menu and a magnificent wrap around veranda, the beautiful sunsets over Casco Bay. The Inn has bicycles around the island and a fun looking 9-hole golf course. The island offers an old-fashioned, relaxed maine atmosphere with little to do, but explore the beaches and rely on daily stress. The Inn has received some bad reviews, but stayed in the Inn, I think these reflect missing expectations. The bedrooms are small, clean and cozy. If you are looking for air conditioning, TV, telephones, microwaves for residues or minibar for alcohol, you will be disappointed. If you enjoy on the other hand, fall asleep in the sound of grills and owls, you have found your place!

Last year we took my guest daughter granddaughter for dinner and there nothing positive about the experience. We decided not to come back. We were hesitant to bring our son to dinner this year, but what makes a difference in the year? The food service was A. Everything has been wonderful for several times.

Ok, if you are looking for modern, do not go to this Inn...because its a beautiful throw back to Grand that sits on an Island. Don't ask about internet which I am sure they have. Take in the setting, the sunset, the food, the comfort, the quiet, the Ocean, the Beaches, the beauty. Their is a catch, it is not cheap, nor is the experience.
