Chebeague Island Inn

The menu was excellent! My wife and I both opted for fish sandwiches served with Fritten, featuring generous portions of fish. I also enjoyed a local beer, Allagash White, which was delicious. The ambiance and the view from the veranda where we dined added to the wonderful experience. Our waiter Mate was both professional and friendly, which made our meal even more enjoyable, despite a large group having a company lunch on the lawn nearby. Overall, we received great service and I highly recommend this restaurant.

It's just a short drive from Portland. Make sure to grab one of the yellow guest moorings, either #41 or #45, when you arrive. We initially went for lunch but ended up enjoying Sunday brunch instead. The menu selection was quite limited. I chose the Caesar salad, which was decent. The real highlight, however, is the atmosphere, which is definitely worth experiencing. Don't forget to call the shuttle bus to take you to the inn!

While the Inn has received some negative reviews, I believe these stem from misaligned expectations. The bedrooms are small, clean, and cozy. If you're looking for amenities like air conditioning, a TV, telephones, microwaves for leftovers, or a minibar stocked with alcohol, you might be disappointed. However, if you enjoy falling asleep to the sounds of nature, like the chirping of crickets and hooting of owls, then this is definitely the place for you!

Last year we took my guest daughter granddaughter for dinner and there nothing positive about the experience. We decided not to come back. We were hesitant to bring our son to dinner this year, but what makes a difference in the year? The food service was A. Everything has been wonderful for several times.

Ok, if you are looking for modern, do not go to this Inn...because its a beautiful throw back to Grand that sits on an Island. Don't ask about internet which I am sure they have. Take in the setting, the sunset, the food, the comfort, the quiet, the Ocean, the Beaches, the beauty. Their is a catch, it is not cheap, nor is the experience.
