Khao Pla - Chatswood

After hearing rave reviews about Khao Pla, I was eager to see what all the fuss was about, and I can confidently say that it lived up to the hype. Having spent 7 years in Thailand, I've had my fair share of Thai cuisine, and yesterday's lunch reaffirmed that Khao Pla is among the top contenders, both locally and in Thailand. We ordered 5 dishes, each one impressing me more than the last. The Banana Blossom Salad was a standout, flawlessly combining sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors with poached chicken and prawns. It was truly to die for! The Crying Tiger was also exceptional, with succulent wagyu beef and a perfectly balanced dipping sauce. And I highly recommend trying the Sticky Black Rice for dessert, served on a tapioca base with Thai tea ice cream and jackfruit - it was simply divine. The only downside was the noise level when the restaurant was packed, making it difficult for my elderly mother to hear our conversation. However, this is a small inconvenience to endure for the chance to enjoy the best Thai food I've had in Australia, rivaling some of the best I've had anywhere. Kudos to Pla, we will definitely be returning!

This is the best Thai food that my partner and I have ever had so far! Not just one of the best, but the absolute best! It definitely beats Chat Thai. The food was served quickly and the staff were lovely. The twice cooked pork ribs and fish curry in banana leaf were exceptional. And the Thai iced tea ice cream was definitely the highlight of the night. We will definitely be coming back for more!

Great food worth the money! Always a good atmosphere there. Nice, cosy and busy. Food is quick and delicious!
