Splendora's Gelato - Charlottesville

Splendy is our target in C'ville. Dairy-free or gelato options have never disappointed, and we love it, a pint to-go!

This place has been around literally for a long time and I am glad they still are. I haven't had them since I left school but they still have same great taste and flavors. I always get sampler platter to share and they luckily still had that. Unfortunately because of pandemic they had to serve in disposable plate but the flavors I got were great. Chocolate, ube, hazel nut, cookies and cream, straciatella, and peach. Please try them as they are really good and they wipe every credit card usage which was also awesome during this time. Thank you!

Splendora’s is our go-to frozen treat place. We have so many happy memories of celebrating with a tiny spoon and cup of gelato (or piece of gelato cake)! My family’s favorites flavors are passionfruit, raspberry, hazelnut, pistachio, coffee heath bar, goat cheese honey fig and literally anything special or seasonal PK has got on. They also carry amazing vegan chocolate bars and baked goods like pizzelle and cuccidati. Also, the hot chocolate is just a dang delight.

What a hidden gem! The flavor selection was a little less that what other reviewers said it was (there were maybe 15-20 flavors; not 36+ , but I don’t know what I would have done if there were more! We went ahead and did the Splendora Sampler (6 single scoops on a custom dish for around $8. The flavors we tried were the Cranberry-Orange Sorbet, Chocolate Gelato, Mint Chocolate Gelato, Cookies and Cream Gelato, Honey and Cheese Gelato and Basil Ricotta Gelato. The Basil was all of the adults’ favorite, and the kids liked the chocolate and the mint chocolate chip. The gelato in general was very light and creamy, and all the flavors tasted exactly as they were named; nothing tasted artificial or syrupy. All in all, I would unreservedly recommend them to anyone looking for a light dessert after lunch, or as a snack on a hot day. We’ll be back!

Reasonably priced offerings of traditional and unique flavors of gelato, sorbet, some baked goods, and gourmet coffee and hot chocolate. Recently hooked on the affagato gelato with espresso poured over top... Treat yo' self and stop in. There is no place like Splendora's!
