Peno Mediterranean Grill - Charlotte

Good menu, delicious entrees and friendly waiting staff with reasonable trips.

Don't know what the heck some of these reviews are talking about... I've been looking for a place like this in Charlotte for seven years. Just thinking about their Jalapeno hummus and shawarma makes my mouth water. I hate that I didn't find this place sooner. On top of that, I took my significant other to Peño and he's not one for Mediterranean food and now he's just as obsessed. Seriously a GEM in Charlottes crown.

The food was too sour for my taste. The lamb gyro, is just lamb patties, being cut into strips. Traditional ln shawarma is made on a grill, with shreds of meat, not burger patties. The pita was warm, and soft though. The chickpea salad tasted like canned chickpeas out in a bowl, and the fries in the gyro were soggy, and very very sour.I'd not go back there at all

If you like sour foods that make your face pucker, this is for you. I am not used to shawarmas and bowls this sour. I asked them to turn up the spice (chilli heat) and all I got was chilli paste in vinegar. The tables are clean but sticky. If you're looking for authentic mediterranean cuisine this isn't the place for you.

Alhamdulillah. I can enjoy the fine cuisine at Peno any day of the wk. Tell a friend, tell a friend! If u haven't visited Peno, u missing out.?
