El Rancherito - Charleston

We have been coming here for years; the food is always good and the service is excellent. The queso is the best cheese dip I've ever had from any Mexican restaurant.

Very good! My boyfriend grew up in Charleston and has always raved about their grilled chicken with cheese rice and I first doubted that no plate from a Mexican restaurant in a small town could be that good. However, i was wrong! The cheese rice was absolutely phenomenal! the chicken was cooked perfectly and the cheese to rice ratio was perfect! The service was excellent too. We gobbled down the chips and salsa (very very delicious) and the waiter brought us more chips almost immediately. The queso dip here is also probably the best queso dip i've ever had. They use a white cheese and it is delicious! I definitely will come back here the next time I visit Charleston!

Stayed across the street, thought we would try some Mexican food in IL. We are from California and we actually really enjoyed this place, and we know Mexican food! Fajitas were great and the spicy salsa was ferociously delicious! Glad we stopped in!

The staff and courteous and fast to serve. Bravo! My food was nasty. I love chilie rellenos, ordered one and had a hard time finding it. I found. Sliver of pepper under a pile of what looked and smelled like dog food. Seriously, nasty.

I have never seen anything like these large exotic hand painted booths and tables from Jalisco, Mexico. Huge combination meals for $8.95? Not in the big city! (Minneapolis) I will be sorry tomorrow morning.
