The Poke Shack - Champaign

I contacted the store, and a man answered. After I explained my issue, he mentioned that he had heard they had run out of smoked salmon. He then handed the phone to a woman who apologized and offered me two options: I could either come back to the store to pick up the missing proteins or have my bowls replaced at a later time. I opted for the replacement, and she assured me she would note my name and the credits. However, when I called today, I was told there was no record of this at all. I was put on hold for a long time, then had to wait for a callback after they looked into it. When I was finally contacted again, the woman on the line was quite abrupt, claiming she didn’t have time to investigate the issue. She offered me one replacement bowl but not the other, and then hung up on me. This is not an acceptable way to run a business. Initially, I experienced understanding and excellent customer service, but it was all overshadowed by the rudeness of the employee who dismissed my concerns. I feel wronged and now see no way to resolve this situation. I've recommended this place to many people, including coworkers, family, and even strangers. Just today, my coworkers and I were excitedly discussing our plans for a Poke Shack day, but this experience has left a sour taste. I appreciate quality food and I'm more than willing to pay for it, and I take pride in supporting local businesses. However, I can't continue to patronize a place that chooses to overlook long-term customers in favor of transient patrons. I won’t be returning, and I will share my experience with my friends.

This was my first experience with poke, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. The restaurant is quite small, almost like a little shack, and features some Hawaiian decorations—nothing extravagant, but it gives off a nice vibe. The staff were very friendly and helpful as I decided what to order. The food tasted fresh, especially for a seafood place located in the middle of Illinois. It’s a great, healthier option (depending on your choices). I hope the restaurant succeeds because I plan to return. Each time I’ve visited, I was the only customer there.

Absolutely fantastic! The food was incredible. I was in town for a science competition and went out for dinner with a group of eight. Even though we arrived after closing time, they still welcomed us and served us all. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and it brought back memories of my wonderful trip to India. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely come back! They also have a great selection of vegan options. (Below is a picture of my potato croquette Katsu rice bowl.)

Catered poke bowls for a work event, and every single person asked where I got them from because they were so GOOD! The best customer experience I've had and very accommodating of the variety of dietary restrictions. Will def have it again :

This was the best poke I've had in a long time. The seafood and other ingredients were so fresh and there were lots of options that allowed my mom and me to customize our bowls to our liking (i.e. Mild toppings for her, spicy for me). The service was friendly and fast and I appreciated the options to pick up as much pickled ginger and sushi sauce as I wanted with individual packaged portions by the pick-up counter. I highly recommend stopping by here!
