Cafe Kopi - Champaign

Café Kopi has gone downhill post-COVID. It's all paper plates and cups, the pastries (Danish, croissants) taste stale, and the big case with other food options is gone. Yesterday's latte was OK, today's had milk that was barely steamed. The cafe still has a nice atmosphere and good wifi, but after two days of revisiting what used to be my favorite café, I'm done with it.

Around 9am Friday is not too busy. The place has lots of seating. I had a large drip coffee and a lemon, ginger scone. Both were good, especially the scone, lots of ginger which I like.

Just tried Cafe Kopi out today and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff was very polite and my chai latte was great. I loved the huge study room. The bathroom was a little under kept and while I liked my drink it was a little pricey, but I thought it was a nice accent to the time I spent studying there. Will be coming back!

We ordered two cold brews and ask for one to be “no room” cuz one of us didn’t want ice. The cashier said “that’s kinda shady but that’s fine”. ??? I thought asking for leaving no room was industry standard. It’s not like we would pour some in the trash and waste it. Bad attitude!

Great coffee and nice selection of non-dairy alternatives and sugar free flavors. The red headed person that’s always working when i come here is particularly nice and helpful. i like the staff here a lot!
