Mackie's - Central Elgin

A trip to Port Stanley just isn 't the same without a stop at Mackie 's. It is a fast-food place located right on the main beach that offers fries with their special Mackie 's sauce and orange-ade as well as some other fast food offering including milk...shakes, slushies and ice cream. There is parking along the side of the building as well as out behind. There is some seating inside the restaurant as well as a few outdoor tables that fill up quickly during the busy summer months. There is also an arcade area to keep kids occupied and a couple of little dollar rides for the younger ones, such as a one-seater ferris wheel about 6 feet high. Having a snack at Mackie 's has been an annual tradition and is often our first stop of the season when heading to the beach. For us Mackie 's kind of means summer!

A great place for some tasty fast food. During the height of the season there is usually a fairly long queue but the staff are great at taking orders quickly and moving the queue along. The tangerine orange drink is really refreshing and all of the food is high quality. The family portion of fries are huge! A recommended place to visit while at the beach.Parking: The parking lot is usually very busy due to the number of people visiting the beach.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible with wide doors

I would not recommend going to Mackies as the fries were mediocre and bland, and their special sauce was not very original. The restaurant does have a small arcade and dining tables, but you can also choose to eat on the beach. The staff were kind and friendly. The only redeeming quality was the orange-aid, which actually had some flavor. Overall, I would say that even McDonald's tastes better than this place.

The restaurant had great wheelchair access. I would have been clumsy in line, but my daughter ordered for us. The service and food were both excellent. I would definitely come back. Wheelchair accessibility was good overall, with easy access to the restaurant and tables. I didn't try navigating the line in a power wheelchair, but I'm confident someone would have assisted me if I had been alone.

Two only cause I came here since a baby and I drove all this way for my homemade sauce was ?? but the orangade has been changed I knew it by looking at the colour than I order two large cups for here and drive home....I'm so sad they have changed it tates total different lil water downed not real the same great taste I enjoyed ...please bring it back
