Bidra med feedbackWe were traveling to Iowa City and like to try small town restaurants. We came across this restaurant and found it was a place like the old fashion cafe. Our waitress Felicia and she was great, the food was also top notch. The next day on the way home we stopped again and had the same great service this time it was the owner who was also the mother of Felicia. Worth checking out it was great.
We were heading from Minnesota to Indiana and needed lunch. We always go out of our way to find something local that sounds good! You know, the kind of restaurant where when you walk in everyone looks at you like you are space aliens because you aren 't from there! ha! This place fit the bill perfectly. They advertise having the best tenderloins in Iowa! I am a connoisseur of fine tenderloin sandwiches and thought I 'd see if their advertisement was indeed true! This place was the best. I got the small one because I saw a few big ones being delivered and didn 't think I could tackle it. It was delicious. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal and they were very friendly. Price were good. They also have WONDERFUL baked goods, including these tart cookies with all kinds of different fruits in them. If I every travel through this area again, I will definitely go out of my way to visit Joensy 's again.
I had heard about Joensy's and was finally able to eat here. I've been here three times in a month. The last time I ordered the large tenderloin, cut it in half and took half home. The breaded or the grilled tenderloin is outstanding. Cole slaw tastes home made and the fries are always good. I've never had room for dessert but they always have four or more pies on the menu.
