Bidra med feedbackIn this small town by the lake is this old stagecoach inn serving delicious food with beautiful presentation. Some in our party were vegetarian and others only ate fish or veg. I rang in advance no problem with dietary requirements. We started with little tastes a la Maison which were delicious and with lots of garlic. We ordered (1)poached salmon with fish foam and (2) a chevre mille feuille as starters and these were delicious. The mille feuille was light and balanced with the chevre. For main courses we had the house specialty of local crayfish and also the fish of the day. My friends eating crayfish certainly got down and dirty and loved it. The fish was delightful. For desert we had a gateau with icecream and raspberry sauce yum! Also a poached peach with frontignac. Very reasonable about 150 euro for four.
My wife and I are staying in the same village as Le Relais de Ceilhes which is guest accommodation with restaurant. The menu has a 3 course lunchtime option for 22euro or evening options from around 25 euro to 30 euro. We opted for entree, plat. We ordered aperitifs and our meal and we're delighted when the aperos were served with a little snack. The lady serving I believe is one of the owners and is quite delightful, very charming and accomodating. We received mis en Bouche (amuse Bouche) prior to our starters. I had squid served with brazed leeks, asparagus and other veg served al dente in a light vinaigrette which was a delight. My wife had fois gras which was also delicious. For mains I had pork and my wife had trout, both of which were cooked with a lightness of touch one can only get in France at this price level and would certainly count as entry level fine dining. We followed up with coffee and the bill was 78 euro in total. Overall, the atmosphere of the covered terrace at the rear of the restaurant, the delightful garden like surroundings, the food and the air of casual sophistication all added up to a very pleasant experience indeed and we would certainly not hesitate in returning.
Comfortable, clean rooms, helpful flexible service, food on the better side of average but relatively expensive
We've been visiting this restaurant for a good number of years and have always had a high quality meal at a reasonable price. It's open March November it also has modestly priced rooms and in summer the terrace is very pleasant. The chef changes the menu regularly, although local trout and crayfish usually figure. The desserts are always imaginative and there is a good winelist. It's one of those places where you can still enjoy good French cuisine without breaking the bank highly recommended!
Excellent gourmet table, with regional products. Welcome. We always come back with pleasure.
