The Mermaid Cafe - Catskill

Let's talk about this brite vibrant place. Mermaid cafe you got it with your positivity of love hate has no home here. To delicious homemade chips with hearty salsa. To crispy Tator tots with fresh ingredients. To a perfect salad with such beauty edible flowers. The cod was fried to perfection and flaky with a great crunch.

A very good restaurants that we stopped at for lunch. Food warrants 5 stars but the place was in the process of being renovated and had a very limited selection of hot drinks. Had their squash special for lunch, which was excellent. Service was good but appeared to be understaffed. Anticipate increasing their rating to a 5 when they complete their renovations.

A super fun and quirky mermaid themed cafe! We dropped by on a Saturday around noon, and it was busy but not crowded (it got more crowded as we were leaving, so come earlier if you can! . There's both indoor and outdoor seating, and a great variety of food selections ranging from ramen to tacos to ice cream. What's not to like?? We got the kaaterskill tacos, pumpkin apple cider bisque, a guava cream cheese empanada, and hot cider. Everything was delicious, but my favorite was the tacos they were the most unique I've ever had in a good way.

This is a review for the ice cream shop inside.Great flavor with amazing texture, very low prices (3 flavors for $5), sampling is allowed, and a decent number of options (8 one vegan). There is a $10 minimum for card payment.We got the killer chocolate (outrageously good, a must try), lavender and coconut almond joy. All three were great and the lavender had a nice subtle flavor.They serve ice cream made from Hudson valley creameries. They also have free mint water.

On the recommendation from the owner of Peyton’s gift shop in Catskill we headed to Mermaid for lunch. She suggested the Salmon Poke Bowl which my husband got and I got the Cod Tacos. Excellent choices both. Full of flavor and the Cod, lightly fried I believe, just right. Cool atmosphere and excellent music. Order at the counter and they deliver the food to your table. You’re in charge of busing your table.
