Lunch after a big walk on the lagon toepath, we came here as it was in the area of our grouping walk. I had the large ceaser salad it was lovely. very posh clientele from what I gathered but didnt put us of coming in our walking attire.
We have just celebrated my Dad’s 95th birthday at this wonderful location. We cannot praise Francesco and his team enough for the kindness, efficiency and courtesy shown to our family today and for accommodating all our requests. Both children and gluten free requests were satisfied. The food was tasty and hot. I particularly enjoyed the caramelised shallot starter and the fish pie. My dad loved his Thai curry and accompaniments. Thank you to all the staff at Malone House for making this such a special occasion for my Dad. He loved the event.
Malone House recently reopened after being closed due to Covid. I visited for coffee this morning. The positives: the waitress was very friendly and helpful. The negatives: the scones looked and tasted stale, there was only one blueberry left at 10 o’clock, and the coffee was dreadful. They need to improve if they want to attract more customers. It was very quiet when we were there, and I'm not surprised. There is potential for the restaurant to be great under the right management, but my experience this morning was disappointing.
The restaurant was charming and the waitress was pleasant. However, the coffee was terrible - the worst I've ever had. We also had two cold and dense scones. There was no hot food available. We ended up paying thirteen pounds for the scones and coffee.
