The staff at the restaurant were lovely, although the signup process was chaotic due to a small entrance with only one person handling reservations for a large number of people. The rooms were clean but very basic, with our room costing £73 for one night. The room was incredibly small, with a tiny TV screen and a broken remote control. The bed was uncomfortable and the decor in both the bathroom and bedroom was old and worn. The towels provided were small and inadequate. Overall, the dining experience was disappointing. I would not choose to stay at the Oyster Fleet again.
I recently dined at The Oyster Fleet for the annual Dr. Feelgood weekend in November. The restaurant offers ample free parking, a beautiful bar, an outdoor grill area with views of Canvey Lake, a fancy dining area, and a large function room with a stage. The rooms are clean and cozy with all necessary amenities and plenty of hot water. I appreciated the luxurious Scottish Sea Kelp products in the bathroom. The staff at the bar and restaurant were all well-trained and friendly, making our experience extra special. Tania, a waitress, was particularly attentive and took great care of our table during both gastronomic nights. The food was delicious with generous portions, and the full English breakfast was top-notch. It was a pleasure to stay at this locally-owned, independent hotel with such a welcoming atmosphere. For Dr. Feelgood fans, there are several local spots to visit, including The Oyster Fleet, where the band often performs. Overall, a fantastic experience with great food and friendly service.
If you ever find yourself near this hotel, make sure to stop by. The restaurant is currently closed, but the staff is truly exceptional. They are a fantastic group of people who go above and beyond to make your experience enjoyable. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
Eating was quite nice, but the service at the bar was not very friendly, so it wasn't so a good experience
