Morrison's Cafe - Castle Point

I went in Morrisons cafe yesterday, at least 6 tables had trays of plates on them. Then I had to get some serviettes and cleaner to clean the table. It was all pretty bad. Today I went in again, I know gluten for punishment, and tables that had not been cleared or cleaned. Had to clean our table again. Ordered food which arrived surprisingly quickly for this store. However the mash was cold and had a dried out crust on it. I dont understand why this cafe can not get it together. They need one member of staff allocated solely to collecting trays and cleaning.

We have been coming to Morrisons cafe for 10 years . Today we visited for lunch and we had the best surprise. The lunches we ordered were first class and the best we have ever had in all this time. We told the lady who served us (Kim)and she admitted shyly that she has taken over as cook. MY! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! She said she cooked our meals from scratch. And both meals plus hot drinks came to under £13. Hope Kim continues with the cooking! It was like a first class meal! Thanks.

Initially we thought of just having a coffee, by=ut then thought of a meal. One item when we went to order was not available so we were talked into the the Xmas lunch when a pamphlet beside the till was shown to us by a humourless member off staff. We ordered 1 tea and as we were the only ones in there so we assumed we would not have to wait too long. 25 minutes later there was no sign of the drinks but the meal was delivered. I wondered I had ordered the wrong item on the menu as I was unable to recognise 1 item on the plate. It was a dark brown with a slightly darker ring around the outside. When I turned it over I realised this was the turkey which on sampling was probably similar to what I imagine to be the tyres on my car. There was great lump of soothing which I think was the stuffing but it seems to have taken up residence on the plate and I did not like to disturb it.. The yorkshire pudding had elastic qualities I have not experienced for some time. This was the worst meal I have ever had, prompting for the first time to speak to a manager and request a refund which was graciously provided. Do not think that we did that the prec=vious poor reviews must have resulted in change as it has not. A cup of tea might be alright if you do not have a bus to catch but do not consider anything else.

Definitely average fare offered by this supermarket. Completely satisfactory but nothing to write home about. O.K. For a quick bite whilst shopping but definitely not worth the effort to make a decisive visit.

For a quick cheap breakfast it’s ok, service a little shabby but it’s clean and quick if your in a hurry!
