La Tavernetta Pizzeria

We live close by so perhaps we are a bit biased but every time we visit La Tavernetta our expectations are exceeded. The family that runs the place are charming, caring and devoted to their trade. The food is excellent, the pasta, the risotto and pizze can all be warmly recommended. Excellent value for money.

Have been with friends my pregnant girlfriend asked for a pizza integrale. They mixed the first one up and brought a normal. Made another 30 minutes, in word thirty, later. But then said, it's just a bit integrale as they do the minimum required by law to say integrale. Even though they advertise is everywhere. Plus the service if even bad. Further are you sitting downstairs in the basement on plastic chairs. Go somewhere else to have a nice evening.

We popped in while waiting for a local festival and the food was excellent all round. Despite not having much Italian between us, they accommodated us really well and we ended up understanding each other. Would happily use again if we're in the area.

Excellent local cuisine: from appetizers (I recommend frittata all uova e cipolle) to all first and main dishes tortelloni, tagliatelle,... gnocchi fritti especially. The two 'menu degustazione' offer everything and more! Very good, delicate half raw steak too! And finally the Dolce, Zuppa Inglese, Mamma-Mia! Compliments to the cook and waiter who gave us excellent advice.
