Bidra med feedbackSunset Lounge is undoubtedly one of the premier spots for enjoying the sunset along the Californian coast! Situated next to the Pacific Restaurant within the Hyatt Carmel Highlands, it offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the southern stretches of Point Lobos State Park. I highly recommend sitting in the lounge area for a panoramic view of the sunset. The menu features a variety of selections, including cocktails, appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. Enjoying live music on Thursdays and Saturdays from 6 PM to 9 PM adds to the ambiance, as many couples take to the lobby area next to the lounge, creating a romantic atmosphere during dusk. We tried four cocktails: - Indigo Sunset: $18 - Santa Lucia Sour: $18 - Sous Vide Old-Fashioned: $18 - Lavender Lemon Drop: $18 My favorites were the Indigo Sunset, which combines St. Germain Elderflower with Prosecco, and the Lavender Lemon Drop made with Citron Vodka and Lavender Bitters. For food, we ordered: - Calamari Frito Misto: $22 The calamari, featuring both rings and tentacles, was excellent. - Clam Chowder: $12 This was also a great choice to pair with our cocktails. Overall, Sunset Lounge is a fantastic place to unwind, enjoy delicious drinks and food, and take in stunning views.
My friend and I decided to stop by after a day of hiking at Point Lobos, and it was our first visit. We showed up in jeans and boots, but the staff welcomed us with open arms. We had an amazing time! I kicked things off with the Big Sur cocktail, while I chose the Lavender Lemon Drop and my friend ordered the Indigo Sunset—twice! You’ll want to check out the photos. Months later, I returned to share this wonderful place with my husband, and we enjoyed cocktails at the Sunset Lounge again. I tried the Sous Vide Old Fashioned, which I highly recommend—actually, I think you should try two! My husband had the Santa Lucia Sour. Their cocktails are not only beautiful but also incredibly tasty. We then had a delightful dinner and desserts at Pacific’s Edge, making for another unforgettable experience. The staff was exceptional throughout. I’ve heard that brunch on the outdoor terrace is also fantastic, and we can't wait to return. You're truly doing a wonderful job here! Thank you!
The Sunset Lounge is situated at the Hyatt in the Carmel Highlands. The food and drinks are excellent, and the sunsets are absolutely breathtaking. I tried the halibut, which was delicious, and the old fashioned cocktails were also impressive. While it is slightly on the pricey side, the overall experience was wonderful.
This is a must-see if there is a sunset. This resort hotel was still recovering from COVID when we returned in '22. The restaurant had been very expensive and excellent pre-pandemic. It was only partially functional immediately post-COVID and the menu had deteriorated, but the view of the sun setting in the Pacific is fabulous and the bar still works just fine.
Amazing location with expansive views of the Pacific Ocean from the Carmel Highlands. We had excellent service with a very friendly staff. Drinks and small food items are available with extended hours compared to the restaurant.
