Bidra med feedback2 middle aged(well 60 is the new 40) couples booked in for lunch before the footy. Ambience was delightful, and wait staff were great. We had tapas styled share plates brought out continually over 2 hours. Before desert we were asked if we would like any on the courses again. The Chef was from Mandurah WA and the food was fantastic. Melbourne continues to deliver first class meals.
We have been a couple of times and enjoyed the food immensely. The attention to detail and the interesting innovative menu is outstanding. Great share plates and good portion sizes also. If you are looking forward to a different wine list you will certainly find that here with the wines from Georgia. The staff are very knowledgeable about all aspects of both the menu and wine list. We were very surprised on our second visit in summer as to being the only people there when we believe the restaurant is an outstanding venue and has such a delightful menu. We will certainly go back. Maybe the name puts people off but it shouldn't as there is something for everyone who enjoys good food. Keep up the great work!
I booked this for my partner's birthday and we both loved it!!!The food blew us away! Technique AND great taste. We had the $65 tasting menu! The home made soughdough pumpkin bread with bone marrow butter and brown sugar butter was AMAZING.A sardine dish we'd never thought we'd like was AMAZINGI wasn't too fond of the third dish but that's because it felt more like it could've been smaller and just a side. The Barramundi was yum! Then we thought it would change to dessert BUT IT DIDN'T and brought out another savoury dish which was beef and that was DIVINE.The dessert was also stunning and just so so yummy. The drinks/coffee there were also good and the staff were all very very lovely.A great place, highly recommend.
We stumbled across the Roving marrow quite literally a few days before New Years and saw they were offering a brunch. All my friends love a brunch so we made a booking; $55 for a European Yum Cha and an additional $55 for 2 hour bottomless French Champagne, G and Tees, **** Marys. We can tick all those boxes. We were seated easily and all the staff were lovely. I won't do the food justice by trying to describe it all but we were thoroughly enjoying it until the Sardines course, too fishy for everyone at our table. if you love sardines it will be up your alley. In any case it was just a one course, every other was delicious and I would definitely look forward to returning. My only tip would be to have the staff run through the menu when people sit down so people have an idea what they are getting.
We went for dinner on a Saturday night and the restaurant was buzzing! The food was amazing, service super friendly and helpful. The food was to die for, and the wine list has an excellent selection wines to match. Great for a romantic night or a group of people for a celebration too with the $65 pp group menu. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great restaurant in Carlton or the CBD. The tram stop is right outside (takes 10 mins from the city) which made it easy to get to from Flinders Street.
