Starter with sardines well served and tasty. Main with merlu was well cooked and piquitos were great. Dessert was not fantastic but the average was good value. Strongly recommended for fish lovers and good service.
The welcome and friendliness of the team at Le Bon Cap was faultless during our recent visit. We had booked but were quickly moved without fuss to a bigger table that could better accommodate our Plateau de Fruits de Mer. Having chosen our wine, based on a grape variety we’re very fond of, the patron verified that we were sure, and on his advice did change our selection. We chose Le Mareyeur plateau because it has a range of different oysters as well as other seafood. We weren’t told which was which of the oysters, the only tiny black mark, and foolishly we didn’t ask. A salad Végé, a well-dressed mixture of leaves, meaty tomatoes, avocado purée and quinoa was a perfect foil to the rich sea food. The bread basket was topped up without being requested. Desserts were also excellent. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed good food in a pleasant outdoor quayside setting. I understand the restaurant has only been open under this ownership for 12 months but based on our visit they should have a long successful future. Highly recommended!
We would liked to have a place for two persons but the staff replied in a very unfriendly and rude way! Half the restaurant was empty and even they may have problems with not enogh employees the handling with guests is inappropriate!
We had lunch here. The service was welcoming, service was efficient, nice atmosphere and excellent food. The prices are very reasonable too. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good restaurant and value for their money in Capbreton.
So we drove for 10 hours and arrived late and hungry to the neighbourhood. We checked out 3 local places and this was the only one that welcomed us with a smile. So the waiting staff haven't got the best knowledge of English, but then we haven't got the best knowledge of French so... hey ho! Once seated the head chef came out and talked us through the menu in detail and with a passion that only made us more excited. He's awesome!!! I had to open the wine bottle as the waitress was struggling, but this was done in good humour and only added to the experience.... The food is superb! Forgive the language barrier, this is money very spent! A word of warning, if you want desert, leave some space. The portion sizes are generous. We only stayed one night in town, but if I'm back this way... I'm coming again!
