Double R Fish - Canterbury

This is the best place to get fish and chips in Herne Bay. I have lived here for 34 years and have tried them all, but I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I recently enjoyed the cod and chips at this restaurant and I just have to say, it's truly top-notch! The dish was beautifully prepared and expertly cooked, which is why most reviews rate R&R as excellent. The fast and friendly service only adds to the unbeatable experience.

I recently purchased a fish and chips meal from this restaurant and unfortunately had a very negative experience. The batter on the fish was too greasy to eat, so we removed it and discovered that there was only a small portion of fish hiding underneath. The chips were also extremely greasy, leaving a thick coating of grease in my mouth. It was a waste of 10.50 and made me feel sick. This was by far the worst fish and chip takeaway I have ever had. I would recommend avoiding this place and looking for better options in Herne Bay.

Just collected fish and chips for 2 and unwrapped the meal to find this excuse of a fish supper. I picked up the battered fish and it was so light. So I removed all the batter to find the fish and it was virtually nothing at all, this is not £3.50 worth of battered fish. The chips were swimming in grease and my poor wife was sick in the bathroom because of so much oil. Now we have had fish and chips all over the UK, and abroad and without doubt this is the worst ever, we will never return.

Absolutely the best fish and chips we've had. Not greasy light batter delicious fish no problems with ordering cod tail end Staff confident and friendly food was made up quickly and great price. Definitely the best in Herne bay quite possibly the best we've eaten anywhere. Will be our new regular fish bar.
