Bluestone - Canterbury

I had heard great things about this place, particularly about its atmosphere and food. I was excited to give it a try, but unfortunately, I won’t be returning. We settled into the lounge area, which had a dark and moody vibe, but I was unfortunately greeted by a persistent odor reminiscent of a restroom. Not the best start. The pizza and nachos were just average. We ordered a house Shiraz, but the serving sizes were quite small. I don’t want to come across as a wine snob, but we weren’t pleased with that. Later, we learned that they were training new staff, and the bartender apologized for the small drink sizes. Perhaps this was just an off day? I’m willing to give it another shot.

Our team chose this restaurant for a large dinner, and I must say I was quite impressed. The menu offered something for everyone and the service was efficient, especially considering there were two dozen of us! The food was also quite good. Although there were some casual diners present, they were mostly situated away from our event room, which could be a consideration for planning future gatherings or special occasions. The atmosphere was pleasant, and there were private rooms available that could accommodate multiple groups simultaneously, all while maintaining a relaxed vibe.

This restaurant is a fantastic place to unwind for the evening, featuring a wonderful selection of dishes. The appetizer menu is intriguing, offering unique items that entice the palate. Their pizzas are not just delicious but also quite filling. The highlight of the experience is the friendly staff, who make sure you have a great time. The mix of couches, tables, and open spaces creates an inviting atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy a selection of classic American music. If there's one area for improvement, it would be to expand their beer offerings; however, you're likely to find a bottle that suits your taste. Overall, this is a hidden gem that is definitely worth a visit.
