Benchmark Wine Bar - Canberra

Underwhelming eating. $16 entree consisted of 2 tiny skalopps pornstars was inedible steak. regrettable as decoration and location good. the first and last time for me

Our group of 4 spent $600 on the devastating menu, 2 out of 4 broke this evening (and 1 wished). we agreed which section of the menu could not sit well. the restaurant was contacted and our claim was dismissed promotly. because of the maintenance of the restaurants to our food poisoning I write this review to warn others.

I was told I should go here since I arrived in 2008 din canberra. So I made it after 8 years and wow, I missed great food and service. the waiter, English accent, which I think was very welcoming and efficient with a good knowledge of the menu and the wine list (after it is a weeping). we had a series of orders to share. only two comments/proposals that we did not display/advertise until dessert and saw that there was a menu for the night. the other is that there was a court that I had not noticed king brown on them king brown what? how it turned out that my eagle-looking ess accompany her on the square saw me eating a mushroom.read more

Back in Canberra for a couple of days, I did what I always try to do – visit Benchmark the first true wine bar in the capital, set up back in 2003 – it has a large and very eclectic wine list that is ever changing and evolving. The list covers almost every conceivable wine region of the world and most of the grape varieties with a great by the glass selection. As well they serve excellent food, and have very knowledgeable and friendly staff. It is on Northbourne Avenue, in the same building as the Novotel, so it is pretty centrally placed.

Had an amazing night at BENCHMARK. We were looked after like princesses. Fab food and not thirsty anymore thanks to the fantastic service. Definitely recommend this little wine bar.
