Bidra med feedbackLa fonte meaning the water source , giving the name to the square where this restaurant sits. This all day, breakfast to dinner bar and simple restaurant is a drawing point for both locals and tourists staying in the fascinating little hill village of Sant 'Ilario. It provides a much better service, if simple, than it could reasonably get away with, plus they will let you use their wi fi for a nominal order outside peak times. Also, Sant 'Ilario is reported to be the most pleasantly breezy village in Elba, if a good dozen minutes ' drive at least from the main beaches in the North and South of the island. We tried an off hours lunch the day we came in. Cooked main courses were fairly highlighted in the menu as frozen and reheated, while sandwiches and cold cuts were very good. At dinner, they do cook express, offering a simple choice of 2 3 first and 2 3 main courses plus specials on Friday and Saturday evenings. We found a Friday evening mixed meat grill good and reasonably sized, with a bit of bacon, sausage, chicken, and Argentina beef steak. 23 Euros per person plus drinks are a good price for the place. Home made jam tart is good both as dessert and as a snack, and they have a wide choice of industrial ice creams of the brand I like most. The place is also known as Il baretto the small bar , including on its receipts.
Very friendly owner and service, taking good care of us. Excellent pizza the best we had in a long time, really tasteful and not too heavy. Surprising wine list for a relatively simple restaurant, we had a Super Tuscany for a very fair price. The location can be well combined with a hike up to Monte Perrone.
My friends and I had the best time here, very idyllic, great menu and perfect quality food! Would definitely recommend!
