Family Table - Cambridge

Have eaten there once. Once for dinner and the food was great-the fried chicken was superb. The other time, we took my husband for Father's Day lunch. What a disappointment! We waited for 10 minutes to sit down and the restaurant was not crowded at all but EVERY table not occupied by guests needed to be bussed. We finally were seated and waited another 10 min. for menus. No specials-just the standard lunch menu I guess; burgers, sandwiches, salads. Okay for a regular Sunday but it would have been nice to have had some featured Father's Day dishes. Worse Culinary Experience of My Life. I have dined at the family table before. I had fine expeiences the two other times I ate there. Tonight was different. Tonight I ordered the hot wing, which where very good. My entree was the buttermilk fried chicken. The mashed potatoes where interesting. The slaw was a little under seasoned. The chicken itself was raw!! I don't mean a little pink, but raw. I have had good experiences there in the past and I know people make mistakes. I was not trying to make a big deal about it. Great Meal!. My Partner and I ate at The Family Table last weekend. Worth the trip from St. Albans. Service was friendly and prompt and the restaurant was cozy and charming. The appetizers-blackened shrimp and chicken rangoon were delicious and the fried chicken was the best I have tasted ever. What a wonderful addition to Jeffersonville.

Needs work. We have eaten at the Family Table many times and been very pleased. However,we recently took out of state guests there for dinner and it was not up to what we had expected. My friend had asked that her salmon not be over cooked;it was, and tasted of vinegar. The potatoes and spinach all tasted of a bitter vinegar flavor.Not good. The servings were huge .My husband's chicken was enough for dinner for 2,and was dry and tasteless.My pasta Alfredo was large enough to take some home,but when reheated, it separated out into grease and white chunks.It went in the compost! Happy Customer. I have eaten at the family table several times and find it exceptinal. the food has always been great as well as the service. The Chef owner always comes out from the kitchen and makes sure that everything is ok. This shows me that he cares very much about what he cooks and what his customers think. I travel to this area about once or twice a month and always make it a point to stop. I have brought several clinents there and thay all have been very pleased.
