Pete's New Haven Style Apizza

My son ordered me a pizza from Petes, and he always brags about how delicious their pizzas are. I must say, they are probably one of the best pizzas I have had.

Takeout of two cheese pizzas on Mother's Day at 3pm. We called ahead and there was zero wait to grab the pies! In and out in less than a minute. Young lady at the register was friendly.Pizza was very good, albeit just a tad too thin for me. I believe that's New Haven-style. No one's fault. Mine was light cheese, which I impulsively ordered. I'll go with regular cheese next time. Parking: My ride just waited for me outside, but I'm pretty sure there's a mix of paid street parking and free street parking (depending when you arrive). Pete's is on the corner on Wisconsin, so I think the spots on that road are paid, but if you go into the surrounding neighborhoods, I think you'll find free street parking, too.

Phenomenal pizza, especially when order well done for a crispier crust. A lot of great toppings as well, like shaved-fried eggplant. One of the best pizzas in DC.Service needs plenty of work though. When you 're ordering you get the feeling that most of the younger workers there aren 't trained. A couple of times I 'm standing at the cashier waiting to be ordered, but the cashier bros are too busy finishing their convo or making jokes until they pay attention to you. Sometimes you 're ordering and get a blank stare and slow responses as if you 're bothering the cashier. Most annoying experience was sitting with family enjoying our dinner, and servers cannot be bothered to walk around the tables. This one server kept squeezing himself behind my chair between another table to run his orders, abruptly saying excuse me each time while just shoving the chair that I 'm sitting in to make room for himself, when he could just take a few steps and walk around the tables like a good server would do. Overall there needs to be better training and a more customer service attitude.

The DMV is a veritable desert for good pizza, Pete’s is one of the better places. The pizza is good, the salads and calamari are very good. It’s extremely popular, and has a good vibe.
