Bidra med feedbackIt was under new management I ordered a spicy sausage and egg with toast . And the prices on the menu on my phone and wasn't the same prices at the restaurant that's when I found out they were under new management. The menu prices on my phone needed to be changed, and the manager was nice . They didn't sell spicy sausage, I got what I ordered anyway. They gave me an end piece of bread. I bought it to the manager attention. My bread didn't have butter on. I didn't get jelly with my bread. The eggs were good, the sausage wasn't all that. I didn't eat the bread.
Good food with very friendly staff. Breakfast was $45 for two people so it's a little higher than I expected. There is an Caribbean kitchen there as well, so varying taste have an option after 11 am. The hours need to be confirmed first.
I'm so CONFUSED!!!Went to 11th and Florida Ave on a Thursday morning looking for the Florida Avenue Grill that I recall as an HU student in the 1990s.Found the building and the sign but a Jamaican restaurant is co-operating in its space?!?!The service from the Jamaican establishment was poor, bordering on rude, the food was not too bad however the salmon cakes were as dry as the sands on a Jamaican beach.Don't know how these two restaurants are co-existing in the same space, but they need to do a much better job at delineating when Florida Avenue Grill is operating vs when the Jamaican eatery is operating. The truly sad part for me was that breakfast at Florida Ave Grill was meant to seal the deal for my daughter to choose HU...womp, womp ? (The 4-star rating is more a reflection of my historic experience with Florida Ave Grill vs my most recent dining experience.
Food was very good, but, because the waitress wasn't there this morning, the service was very slow. That said, the food was good.
You’re coming here for the food and the history, not the service. When we first walked in, there was a couple in front of us so we waited for a few. When a few people got up at the bar, we asked the couple if they were waiting on a table and they said yes, so we started walking towards the bar to take those stools. This was our first mistake because the owner/manager/whomever quickly barked out to me to “not bum rush” her and to wait my turn. When we were finally seated at a table, she was our waitress, along with another girl helping, and it was just rush led and not personal at all. She told the table behind us when they asked for a refill of coffee that she wasn’t making anymore because it was too close to closing time. This was at 12:30 and they closed at 2pm.The food was pretty good with the pancakes with cinnamon being the biggest hit. The sweet tea was very surprisingly good.Come because this place does have some historical significance but don’t expect any sort of “southern hospitality”.
