Great place, awesome ambiance. Ok service, ok food. We had a picada platter of fried meats, plantain, yucca, and yellow potatoes a signature Colombian type of tuber called papa criolla that is typically served fried). The meats included pork ribs, chicharrones pork rinds but not very good IMO as these were dry), morcilla black sausage, which was good but not outstanding), and chorizo this one was ok, it could have had better richer flavor). We had to order extra morcilla as the portion included was way too little. The aborrajados were good. This is a signature Cali dish of fried battered ripe plantain with cheese.
We came for a recommendation and are not disappointed. eating is very traditional, with delicious recipes and homemade food taste. service was good and fast, the terrace is beautiful with a beautiful view of the city. a very tasty beside sauce. we ate the attack marino and encocado de camarones and was like eating in the grandmother kitchen. also hit tony the owner, who was friendly enough to share many layers from his restaurant, and gave some advices for our day in cali. overall, beautiful place, fast friendly service, good eating and a nice convo with the owner when they have luck.
We went there because it was recommended by anthony bourdain. I can't imagine what he had eaten here. we had a steak and a typical Colombian rice dish, arroz atollado. the steak was dry and chewing. the rice was tasteless with a boiled fat. meat I spit out. it was really disgusting. then they brought us two typical Colombian desserts, which were also tasteless. I was really angry that I was was wasting my time. we also said they could see the sunset. it was behind the buildings. very disappointing. the staff was very nice, but the service was slow. it was very sweet and has a terrace. I wouldn't recommend it!
We came because of the luladas and they were disappointing, it took about half an hour for them to take our order and the half of the menu was not available. the amount is ok, but eating is not the best, they really need to start managing the place. not recommended for the moment. it's a shame, because the place looks good.
