Restaurante Capelinha do Monte

This a good little eatery located just a short walk from the Sana Silver Coast Hotel in Caldas and serves up a decent steak with a variety of sauces. It is not like a typical European steakhouse where you can select the cut of steak...you want. You order a steak and choose your sauce. The mangement prides itself on selecting the best available steak that day; so what they have is what you get ! Unusual for a visitor but normal if you live here as I do. Its opening hours are a little odd and you need to book probably if eating after 8pm. A decent olives/local bread/chorizo/salami starter followed by a steak each with all the trimmings (chips were good too) , then a sweet each followed by coffees plus a decent bottle of vinho tinto from Douro region came to Euros 38.00 for two people..Bargain ! You can eat cheaper elsewhere but might take potluck on the quality of meat... this place depends on its reputation for decent meat. Other choices are available but you go here to eat steak primarily. It has what I would call a cafe atmosphere with paper tablecloths, keep your cutlery from the starter for the main etc etc. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Very nice, small, family run restaurant! Good service and the food was very well confectioned!! Try the steaks, any of them!

Restaurante tradicional.Bom bife, só tem que escolher, bife alho,de pimenta, capelinha,etc.Arroz de pato é também um prato muito bom. Apareçam que não se arrependem.

Pior serviço de sempre! Assim que entramos com menu para todos, não haviam cervejas frescas, acabou o arroz, batatas estavam terríveis, cheias de azeite! Muito má preparação para algo que foi pedido com uma semana de antecedência!

Comida caseira servida em ambiente tipo "casa da avó". Entradas muito simpáticas e servidas de modo diferente mas muito engraçado. O bife com molho de alho é muito bom para quem goste. Atendimento muito simpático. Recomendado sem dúvidas.
