Bidra med feedbackAfter arriving in Melbourne, we found this restaurant to be one of the few open between 3 and 5 pm. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious stir fry udon noodles with teriyaki sauce and the tasty vegan dumplings.
Last night, we went to Tokyo Dumpling. We were handed the vegan menu and decided to order vegan fried rice, udon noodle stir fry, and were pleasantly surprised to find out they now offer vegan dumplings. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We will definitely be returning tomorrow!
The restaurant had a dedicated vegan menu that was great. We tried the crispy noodle salad, fried rice, and teriyaki noodle stir fry, and they were all delicious. Unfortunately, the dumplings weren't vegetarian because they contained fish sauce in the filling, so I couldn't request them to be made vegan. Other than that, the food was good!
Went for lunch today and was very impressed. They now have separate vegetarian and vegan menus. The vegan menu had only a few selections. We had the crispy noodle salad and stir fried ramen and veg. Both of which were big servings and very tasty. There was also stir fried udon and fried rice. Beware though, from what I read on the vegetarian menu, the vegetable dumplings are not vegetarian or vegan at all as they contain fish sauce/stock. They have clearly labelled which items contain fish/chicken stock. Nice space, friendly staff, free ice tea. Thoroughly recommend.
If you have a graving for fried dumplings, this is the place. They are really good. You can mix your own dipping sauce with soy sauce and vinegar and if you want, there is chili oil you can drizzle to your dumplings. We do, everytime!
