Lui's Plaice Blackwood - Caerphilly

I recently visited a restaurant for lunch and found it to be not very busy, but with nice service that was very fast and friendly. The fish I ordered was perfect - it had a nice crunchy batter, was fresh and firm with no hint of being overcooked. It wasn't greasy and had a delicious taste. However, the chips that accompanied the meal were a bit of a letdown. They looked beautiful but were not crispy and had become a bit soft and soggy. I suspect they had been sitting for too long and could have used a refresh in hot oil. Despite this, I still enjoyed my meal and will definitely return as I believe this was more of a one-off mistake rather than the norm for this establishment. I would rate my experience an 8 out of 10 and thank the staff for their service.

Zelt in the busting for fish chips place was empty stood there at theke 5 minutes nobody served me not to call out because I thought why should I? a staff from the kitchen and 1 doin something behind the theke I went out of disgusting hunger when they were. do not even notice their customers waiting that they do not earn the business why we should wait gav on the counter and never call out to go back there

I visited here a few months ago and said I wouldn't return but circumstances changed.... again I found the chips really dry and not very nice the vinegar is so watered down u may aswell just put water on your food and the prices r...very dear £6.80 for 2 plates of chips and 1 small sausage most of it was left cos not very enjoyable

We have often called in here while shopping in Blackwood. Called in on Thursday which will definitely be our last. Advertised Faggots ,Peas Chips which was in fact 1 Faggot thank God as it was disgusting. Asked for pepper but told they didn't have...pepper by a very sour lady behind the counter. Ordered the food then had to go to the counter to collect ourselves. It seems to have been taken over by Turkish owners (I think) and it has gone downhill dramatically even the chips were awful were as they used to be lovely. Obviously kept the same name of Luis Place but not the same food or service. Highly not recommended.

Don’t bother going here chips cold and service awful you can get better food locally This is the second time I have had cold food wont be going back
