Bidra med feedbackWell where do I start?Rang to make a booking four days prior to attending, when arrived advised no record of booking held.Upon ordering I was advised only enough pancake mixture for one serving, they had to check if they had enough oranges for three orange juices....Ordered for five people first three arrived at different times and the remaining two forgotten about all together, when queried we where advised they did not have any poached eggs left (seriously) so had to settle for scrambled although they did refund the costs of the two mixed breakfasts the entire experience was nothing short of disappointing. No water offered, not sufficient cutlery on the table, female staff rude and inattentive and the place needs a good spruce up!!
We prebooked for a birthday breakfast for my daughter, 7 adults and 3 kids. On arrival they were keen for us to use the kids play room which was fair enough as they have other diners to consider. It was lovely and warm in the main dining room with the fire going but freezing in the kids room. We asked for a heater only to be told it was broken, once again no big deal. Orders were placed and then the problems started. Coffee arrived and was only luke warm, breakfast was next and eggs weren't cooked as requested, bacon was cold and the final straw was when my daughter had to return her son's toast as it had mould on it as did another one of our kids. One meal was replaced but not the other and no apologies were given at any stage. Between our entire party we had spent over $200 on breakfast that was not that great. I would not return to this restaurant.
Went for lunch Sunday, we were greeted by friendly and energetic staff who directed us to take a seat anywhere, we chose near the fire as it was chilly. We were told the specials ,which we ordered and were great. I found this restaurant to be a reasonably priced venue with great staff, food and views.
During a "drive in the country" we ended up in Bunbury and with little knowledge of the town ended up driving along the beach and found the Backbeach Cafe. The service was prompt and welcoming, the food was excellent and the staff accommodated some menu changes as there were some intolerances in our group. The proprietor took an genuine interest in our feedback on the food and also genuinely interested in ensuring that we had a pleasant experience. I will definitely be going back to this absolute gem of a restaurant. Good value for money, absolute beachfront location, relaxed and informal atmosphere.
We have just had the most wonderful meal with generous and delicious portions! The children's room makes it a fantastic place to eat with small children. Would highly recommend to others????
