Golden Phoenix - Buford

I typically don’t write reviews, but I absolutely love this place! They offer a wide variety of options, including Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai cuisine. My personal favorite is the Vietnamese Braised Beef Stew with noodles—it's packed with flavor! The Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls with peanut sauce are also delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I no longer need to drive 45 minutes to an hour for delicious PHO, as the GOLDEN PHOENIX RESTAURANT in Buford is much closer than Duluth. Their menu features both THAI and CHINESE dishes, so you can choose whatever cuisine you're in the mood for. The PHO is outstanding, and their GENERAL TSO CHICKEN is cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of crispiness and spice—it's the kind of heat that won’t make you stop eating. The service is always excellent, and the atmosphere is extremely peaceful, at least during my visits. I often see people picking up orders, but I personally prefer to enjoy my food right away. This place serves some of the best pho I've ever had. My wife and I visit quite frequently, and the staff always remembers us, which is a nice touch. Our orders come out quickly too. My wife is especially a fan of the banh mi.

We decided to try takeout from this restaurant after having trouble getting our usual order from Wang's in Oakwood. We ordered the chicken lo mein and Mongolian beef. The chicken lo mein was decent but had an excessive amount of onions and bean sprouts, making it feel like a 50/50 mix with the noodles. Unfortunately, the Mongolian beef was quite disappointing; it was overwhelmingly salty and lacked any other flavor. It's actually the saltiest dish I've encountered, and I'm someone who typically enjoys salty food. Overall, I was very disappointed and wouldn't recommend either of these dishes.

This charming little restaurant is a hidden gem. They serve a delicious variety of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai dishes. The service is friendly, and the prices on the menu are quite reasonable. Plus, there's ample parking available.
