Jamrock Island Grille - Buena Vista

This place is closed. Was super excited to try it but the building is empty and there was no sign on the window indicating hours.

Gem discovered driving the Parkway!! Jamaican mon! Seriously, real Jamaican taste for this area of the county where most food has been Southern fried or BBQ was a SURPRISE! The food was inspired and delicious.

Jamrock was great! Being from Florida, good Caribbean food is a lucky find in the mountains. We absolutely loved it, the Chicken Tacos rivaled anything I've had down south and the staff was friendly with quick service. The Sampler platter gave a huge variety no gimmicky sampler here, it had everything I wanted to try right on one plate. Loved it.

We just ate here after a day of hiking. We first went to JJ's meat shack, and after being uninspired by anything on that menu, we found this gem. Classic Jamaican jerk chicken, braised oxtail and perfectly cooked rockfish with mango after starting with lovely, lightly fried calamari. Service with a wink and a smile, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will be back! Keep up the good eats!
