Bidra med feedbackMy dining experience at this restaurant was not pleasant. Despite being the only customers, we were asked to move from our chosen table to make room for a fictitious booking for three people. Additionally, there was no fridge available, so we were unable to get a cold drink, let alone a warm one. The food was mediocre at best. Overall, not a good experience.
Went there as the chef cooked for the Indian prime minister during the G20 summit last year so thought it would be fantastic. The samosas were fantastic thought we where on a winner but that was not so. Butter chicken is always my measure of an Indian restaurant and there's unfortunately far too sweet and other curries all tasted the same.
There is a TA Recommended sticker proudly displayed on the window, and newspaper clippings showing the chef accepting some award, however, I suspect that perhaps we had a different chef the night we went because it was without doubt the worst Indian meal I have ever eaten. We both ordered a mixed entree and got one plate to share with 3 different samosa (so we had to cut them in half to try them) and a heap of cold, dried out deep fried onion rings. The prawn curry looked like a bowl of slop and was just a rather gritty gruel with a very few over cooked tiny prawns. We should have realised that there was something wrong when the place was totally empty and the restaurant a few doors down was packed.A couple of nights later we went to the Indian restaurant down the road and it was superb. I will not be going back.
Real Indian food not dumbed down for Aussie tastes the vindaloo was spices and tender Samosas tasty - we will return
Booked table for three yesterday. Placed order to start with Tandoori chicken. Within 3 minutes the tandoori chicken was brought to table. Instantly got an odour of meat going off. All three found the meat smelly not hot only Luke warm and the flesh was soft. Looked as though it was cooked a week earlier and put in fridge then half warmed up in microwave. Absolutely disgusting. Told waiter and walked out to dine elsewhere. We booked there on recommendation that they had cooked for Indian Prime Minister at G20. It is a wonder that Prime Minister Singh is still alive!!!
