Bidra med feedbackThe ambiance, music, the drinks, the food, all were so delish. Their specialty drink Benevolence, Benevolence was super amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant. I wish it weren 't so windy and cold during my visit. Otherwise, I would have dinedin their yard...such a unique setup.
The exceptional service at this restaurant deserves the automatic 20% gratuity added to each bill. The outdoor garden area is charming as well. Our group enjoyed Oasis mocktails, Caribbean tatertots, fried sweet plantains with a side of garlic sauce, and mofongo (one vegan and one with duck). The flavors were delicious and the food was served promptly. There are several vegan and vegetarian options on the menu that I look forward to trying next time.
I had high hopes for this restaurant but unfortunately, I was not impressed. The jerk chicken had a nice smoky flavor but was undercooked. The rice was dry and the tostones were not to my liking. My friend also did not like her crab-fried rice.
I randomly walked into Sally Roots around 8 pm on Wednesday, and the atmosphere was very welcoming with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside and the setup was nice. We checked out their online menu and I ordered a Dos Equis for $7. Unfortunately, my beer was a bit flat, but I didn't bother mentioning it to the staff. For our mains, we ordered Curried Chicken ($18) and Curried Vegetables ($17). While the prices were a little high, the food was quite tasty. The portion of rice was small, and my curried vegetables were on the sweeter side with chunks of carrot, potato, and celery in Caribbean yellow curry sauce. It lacked spiciness and I wished they served it with some spicy scotch bonnet sauce. I also tried a Pacifico for $6, which was a bit better than the Dos Equis. The service was good, our food arrived within 20 minutes, and the noise level was moderate, making it easy to have conversations. Overall, I had a good experience at Sally Roots.
Great food, great vibes, and definitely great customer service (from waiter to manager)... omg... the jerk chicken and mac and cheese
