The Greyhound - BROMLEY

We had a late lunch at this restaurant during the week. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially when dealing with confused customers like myself who misread a menu item. I thought a dish with (chips) was a vegetarian pie. It would be nice to see a veggie pie on the menu. The portion sizes were generous for the ham and eggs, salad, and cream of mushroom pasta we ordered. A previous review mentioned that the pub was not dog-friendly, but it is now. The pub is spacious and has a designated area where dogs are not allowed, which is great for those who are uncomfortable around dogs. I was too full from the pasta to try the rhubarb crumble, but the landlady kindly offered to pack it for me to go. I declined, but I plan on returning to enjoy a cup of tea and the rhubarb crumble with either custard or ice cream. I also realized that service was not included in the bill, so I will make sure to leave a double tip next time.

The management was extremely unfriendly and the food was very mediocre, something you could easily make at home. The prices were overpriced, especially at £6 for a pint. I will not be returning.

The restaurant is great for families with dogs and children. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance, as the staff is friendly but it can get busy. There are outdoor seating areas, some of which have covering.

Good outdoor seating on a hot summers day looking over the green. The inside was good with good sport screens. Outside was fine and the weather meant it was a good day. Food was decent, had a range of the sides/starters.

We revisited the pub for food as had previously had a lovely experience there. Pub wasn’t busy as it was after the lunch hour rush but we waited over an hour for our food. Tables that arrived after us were served their food before us. Food wasn’t as enjoyable as last time. Service charge is included and it should be optional. It’s a treat for us to go out as a family for a meal so this was a disappointing experience and one we won’t go back and try again.
