The Standard Biergarten - Broad Channel

As an Austrian expat I was hoping for a somewhat genuine Biergarten experience, but unfortunately this place was a disappointment. The German beers on tap are all bad to average and were terribly poured (with no head) and the pretzels did not taste genuine, were faaar too salty and didn't come with butter, as they usually would in Austria or Bavaria (we even asked for butter and they said they didn't have any). Nice place for beers but too crowded and long lines to buy them.

This bar is one of my favorite in town, the atmosphere is very nice, the people that usually go are nice and fun. This time I am going to give it 2 stars because one of the bartender treated me very badly, he yelled at me for no reason, after I asked him for a specific brand of Whisky, I think he was having a bad day and unfortunately he paid his bad mood with me. So their house cocktails are $15, ordered one house cocktail and 3 margaritas, we were charged $21 each for first two margs, and $19 for the third one. Didn’t notice until after we left. Customer beware, bartenders charge whatever they feel like.

Super cool outdoor beer garden. They have a smart ticket system which makes it way faster to get your beer. Shoutout to Tye for being super friendly and kind (even after we broke a glass, oops! . I recommend all of their beer and a big pretzel!
