Bidra med feedbackOrdered from Charles Pan -Fried Chicken for the second time this week. This time, I had their turkey wings smothered in gravy, along with collards, okra, and cornbread. The wings were pleasantly huge and the food was flavorful and tasty. Everything was enjoyable, and I highly recommend this place.
Smothered Chicken (3 Pcs) w collard greens and white rice. GREAT portions, meat was flavorful but poor cuts. All bone, no meat just all covered in gravy. Greens were good once you add hot sauce , never got my cornbread though. 7/10 would get again but probably only in person
I was going to give this meal 2 stars but I can '. $27 for my meal $22 not including tip) and the only thing that I got out of the deal was a small thing of mac and cheese that ihad to doctor up. It was missing its usual garlic and onion powder. The grits so-so, med consistency but bland. the pulled pork drowned in some tangy sweet sauce again. And a little piece of cornbread that I was so angry about the meal iforgot ihad until hours later. I thought this time going in to order this let me hour their first couple of hours being open rather than their last . The pulled pork was cold, i thought, is it Nov. outside already? And whatever sauce that the pork was drowned in was so sweet it showed their yams the meaning of what it is to be candied! Just an absolute waste of damn money!
If you like soul food cool your jets, this is not the place. I wasn't mad at the chicken. One out of three pieces wasnt old and tasted great. The Mac and cheese was so-so. The cornbread was nice. The slaw was gross. Dry and covered in pepper. I couldnt place what tasted bitter in it. The peach cobbler is not peach cobbler. Its also pretty gross. I wont order here again, its mediocre and simply not southern cooking.
Limeade is so sweet, its more like lime syrup. Peach cobbler is also very sweet; but its delicious. Chicken pieces are huge. Greens and black eye peas very flavorful. White rice too moist.
