Bidra med feedbackIn the bustling heart of Bristol lies a peculiar establishment known as The Bay Horse Pub—a place where the promise of merry revelry is met with a premature curtain call. Upon entering, one might expect a lively atmosphere, perhaps some hearty banter, and a pint or two to fuel the evening's escapades. However, be prepared to have those expectations dashed faster than a pint glass dropped by an overzealous patron. The Bay Horse Pub boasts a charming exterior, reminiscent of a quaint countryside inn plucked straight from a postcard. But alas, dear patrons, do not let its picturesque facade deceive you, for behind those doors lies a disappointing truth: the pub shuts its doors with the punctuality of Big Ben at 10:30 PM. Now, I must confess, I am no stranger to early closing times. After all, I've bid adieu to many a night in the wee hours of the evening. But to have one's merriment so abruptly curtailed at the peak of the evening's excitement is akin to being served a Sunday roast without the Yorkshire pudding—it's just not cricket. Picture this: You've gathered your merry band of comrades, ready to embark on a legendary night of laughter and libations. You saunter into The Bay Horse Pub, brimming with anticipation, only to find the clock ticking down faster than a pint of ale in the hands of a thirsty patron. The bartender, with a mournful look in their eye, informs you that the pub will be closing imminently. Oh, the agony! The disappointment! The sheer absurdity of it all! But fear not, for amidst the chaos and despair, there lies a glimmer of hope. For in the heart of Bristol, where the spirits are as lively as the music and the laughter knows no bounds, there are pubs aplenty with closing times as late as the city's vibrant soul. So, dear reader, heed my words and steer clear of The Bay Horse Pub unless you fancy an early night's rest or a particularly lackluster game of darts. In conclusion, if you find yourself in Bristol craving a night of revelry and good cheer, I implore you to look elsewhere. The Bay Horse Pub may be charming on the outside, but within its walls lies a disappointment as bitter as a pint gone sour. As for me, I shall raise my glass elsewhere, toasting to the pubs that keep their doors open long past the witching hour. Cheers to that!
Well I turned up at about 9pm and it seemed like a nice little pub. But at 10pm it changed. It was as if it became an underage drinking den and the teachers turned up. A surly and angry barmaid told us to ‘drink up and get out because we are shutting’. At 10:30. In what purports to be a pub. My local does better than this; and my local is rubbish.
Went here for my fathers birthday and couldn’t of asked for a better place to celebrate. Food and staff were amazing.
