Bidra med feedbackAllow me to weave you an unbelievable yarn. Saturday night while we were enjoying a merry birthday celebration, some sad glassy in need of an ego boost decided to throw his weight around and get our friend kicked out because he wasn't happy with a Facebook transaction that had transpired between them several months prior. That's right. Something completely unrelated to the night was getting him kicked out. All because glassy felt "uncomfortable". Let it be known the service thus far had been ok (table wasn't ready for a good 20 mins after we arrived), and the food pretty good. First thing management should have said to spineless glassy is get back to work and simmer down son, don't bring your personal issues to work. Not instead come and abuse us and inform us it's "only going to go one way so your opinion is irrelevant" when we defended said friend. Second thing should have been don't go up to and accost guests when they're sitting there minding their own. We were out for a birthday, so it was a pretty special event that you didn't need to ruin with your gross tacky behaviour. We had already been there over 2.5 hours, so we're not exactly sure why he decided to accost our honest bike sellin friend then and there. He must have been planning that for ages, well done on plucking up the courage! You cost your business a few hundred dollars worth of drinks so I hope it was really worth it to them to uphold your rights to feel comfortable! Don't know who you think you are. After we explained to incompetent "management" the situation and how they should probably go about handling it, they decided to show their true colours and have a laugh at our earnest attempt at settling things calmly, explaining it was a misunderstanding and letting our friend stay and finish his drink. How very dare we! He informed us they'd decided our friend wasn't welcome. It seems the only professional, sane and normal person there was the bouncer who stood up for us and agreed it wasn't funny after we asked incompetent management what was so amusing. Absolutely disgusting handling of the situation and we'd all very much like to never see these clowns again. Not a nice feeling when two particular members of staff don't know how to handle all their emotions and have zero customer service training as they forgot the golden rule of hospitality: customer's always right. And in this instance we absolutely were. Settle petal. This doesn't concern your workplace. #byefelicia never again.

As me and all the other reviewers will tell you. It's a place for manly men to eat, drink, watch footy, grunt, banter, elaborate past sporting achievements, rubber neck girls walking by. So if you're into all that, which I personally am, I would suggest a tipple at this pub. Not to mention the great range of beers, that don't taste like that rubbish home brew that your mate Damien made in high school. It's got good manly pub grub. Plus its next to Suncorp, so do you need a better reason? Rally the boys pre or post match and get ready for your mate Mike to tell you the same story he always tells, about how he was destined to play for Australia. Or listen to your other mate Paul blab on about how awesome Tony Abbot is.
Reconnaissance mission on the hunt for a mate's upcoming b'day venue. What we discovered here was loads of space, fun staff and a friendly ambiance. This new building directly beside Suncorp Stadium dominates its prime position & has a modern open industrial style with its brewing functionality as a feature. At first glance the pub fare seemed kinda pricey. We ordered a number of what we thought would be the 'smaller' dishes. Erm....small they most definitely were not! Turns out the bang for your buck quotient is high. Of what we tried, there was the 'very good' (the BEST crunchy sweet potato fries & a wicked fried pickle feast), the 'good' (thick cut chips & chicken wings - maybe dial down the Franks Red Hot sauce & dial up the quality of that blue cheese sauce) and the 'lacklustre' (chewy charred squid). Overall we felt everything balanced out & we were happy campers. The casual vibe & the fact it's an epic brewery with heaps of interesting and unique concoctions definitely keeps us keen. The verdict - DING DING DING - ideal for the blokey gathering we're planning so locked that in before leaving. We were even generously offered our choice of a few different areas for it. Brace, brace, brace Newstead Brewing Company: we are incoming...
