Bidra med feedbackThe food was incredibly tasty, it felt like it was homemade by a family. The cocktails, especially the rum punch, were exactly how I like them, even better than my mom's! The service was outstanding, with a friendly and attentive staff. I wish I lived closer to this restaurant, but I will definitely be returning in the future.
Went with husband and daughter for the Sunday Caribbean roast buffet. Lots of choice the jerk pork and chicken were so, so good, and we really enjoyed all the veg (especially the greens). It was a bit of a shame that you had to...take exactly what you thought you would want in one go as the buffet was costed per plate. I just took a tiny bit of things I wasn't sure about, but there were some things I found I really loved and would have liked more. I see that they are going to change to allow you to go up for seconds, and I think that will work much better (less waste too, as some people would take masses and then not eat it all The cocktails and the rum punch were excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. We sat in the garden in the sun, listening to the cool jazz sounds and it was very relaxing. A great atmosphere that took us right back to lovely Barbados! Recommended we will be back for the buffet, and come for a live music evening sometime too.
Wandering along Portland Road on Sunday we saw Jukes bar and gave it a go for lunch! Suprisingly it was quiet with not many people in. There was good music playing a really friendly welcome from the family owners and the food was great. We...had Jerk Chicken and Mac pie with rice. Really tasty! then had homemade rum and chocolate brownie and lemon and ginger cake. Although quiet i can imagine its got a good vibe when busier so will definitely be going back. Lunch for plus a pint each was I've music on Friday evenings so will be sure to go then, for some rum punches!
The restaurant offers a small, yet beautiful menu with delicious dishes that are perfect for a great dining experience. I particularly enjoyed the nan's huh, which had a good level of spiciness. They also offer milder dishes for those who prefer less heat. I look forward to returning to try the burger and roast on Sunday.
Jukes may appear small from the outside, but once inside, it reveals a spacious interior with an outside seating area. The background music adds to the atmosphere, and the food is freshly prepared to order. The staff are friendly and accommodating, willing to cater to any dietary needs. The front part of the restaurant also doubles as a bar area, where guests can enjoy music and drinks without feeling pressured to purchase a full meal. Both my vegan partner and I, who is a carnivore, enjoyed a satisfying meal and left feeling full and relaxed after our visit.
